Discover: Introducing the LEAD compass

ree

I’m Suzanne—a mum, occupational therapist, and long-time listener to the quiet wisdom that families carry. Lead Together is a space where parents lead, services follow, and your vision for your child’s life is honoured from the start. You are the expert. I’m here to walk beside you.

Dear fellow parent,

You’ve made it back to this moment. Whether you’re perched at the kitchen table with a cold cup of tea, or hiding in your car for a breath of stillness, I’m grateful you’re here.

We’ve been moving through the LEAD Together path once again:

We’ve Leaned in to what we notice.

We’ve Engaged with learning a new step.

We’ve Adapted from human doing into human being.

And now, we meet the fourth pillar again:

D is for Discover

…new insights about ourselves, our children, and the invisible systems we’re entangled in.

This week in An Seomra Ciúin — The Quiet Room — I’ve created something new for you to pause with, and perhaps even share with your child.

For your head:

I’m offering you the LEAD Compass — a simple, circular worksheet that can be printed and returned to again and again. It’s a way to map one small noticing, one small step, one small moment of being, and one small discovery.

For your heart:

To accompany the Compass, I’ve recorded a short reflection you can listen to — almost like a fireside story — guiding you gently through the four quadrants. You don’t need to do anything but listen.

Perhaps it will meet you while you walk, drive, or rest for a few minutes in the quiet.

For your hands (and your child’s):

There’s also a Children’s Compass — a coloring sheet version with space for drawing and writing small words. You might complete your compass side by side with your child, letting both pages tell a story of being together in the same practice.

Before you go…

Take one breath for your child’s imagination, reaching beyond the maps we’ve been given.

Take one breath for your own wisdom, unfolding step by step.

And take one breath for the discoveries waiting, already here, if we pause to notice.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.You are already enough.

Take all of the care,

Suzanne
